In the course of handling individuals’ personal information, the Itami City Museum of Art, History and Culture (I/M) observes laws pertaining to the protection of personal information and uses the following policy to guide its efforts to protect personal information.
1. Acquiring personal information
I/M will clearly state their objectives for handling personal information and acquire personal information through legitimate and fair means, in principle only after announcing or publishing the purposes of use.
2. Using personal information
I/M will use personal information within the purposes of use stated upon acquisition, and only to the extent necessary to execute their duties.
If I/M outsources the handling of personal information to a third party, they will conclude an agreement requiring strict confidentiality with the third party, thereby clarifying where the responsibility thereof lies, and strive to manage the personal information safely.
3. Providing personal information to third parties
In principle, I/M will not provide personal information to any third party, except in the cases set out below:
- When the individual has consented
- When compelled to do so pursuant to laws pertaining to the protection of personal information or other laws or regulations
4. Managing personal information
I/M will make efforts to prevent the leakage or loss of, or damage or unauthorized access to individuals’ personal information, including undertaking appropriate safety measures and management practices with regard to the personal information acquired.
5. Establishing, implementing, and improving information security policy
I/M will announce any significant changes on the Itami City Museum of Art, History and Culture website. However, individuals are advised to check for other changes as they see fit.
Please understand that I/M is in no way responsible for any issues originating from failure to check for changes.
Changes go into effect when they are posted on the Itami City Museum of Art, History and Culture website.
6. Disclosure, verification, correction, suspension of use, and removal of personal information
I/M will promptly respond to any individual’s request to disclose, verify, correct, suspend the use of, or remove their personal information.
In the case of disclosure, I/M will charge a fee set out elsewhere.
