Defining characteristics
of the collection
The Itami City Museum of Art, History and Culture is a repository of works of art, crafts, and history founded on roughly 9,000 works of satirical and humorous art from the former Itami City Museum of Art (opened in 1987) and roughly 160,000 artifacts depicting the history, customs, and other attributes of Itami from the former Itami City Museum (opened in 1972). We include haikai (linked poetry) and haiku from the Kakimori Bunko collection in our exhibitions and searchable database of items in our collection in an effort to preserve and broaden the reach of Itami’s art and culture.
