2025伊丹国際クラフト展 事務局が選ぶグッドパッキング賞！/Best Packing Award selected by the staff

伊丹国際クラフト展では世界中から多種多様な作品が出品されますが、作品もさることながら、その梱包方法も千差万別です。中には作品同様に大変美しい梱包、作品保護の観点で大変優れた梱包もあり、今回は特に優れた梱包に事務局スタッフよりグッドパッキング賞を授与します。決して表には出てこない、スタッフだけが知る作品の裏側をご紹介します。
At ITAMI International Craft Exhibition, a wide variety of entry works are sent from all over the world, and the way of packing them are also really various. Some of them are really beautifully wrapped, just like artworks itself, others are packed very good in terms of protecting works. This time, secretariat staff give an award the Best Packing Award to particularly excellent packing. We would show you the behind-the-scenes aspects of works that are never revealed to the public and that only the staff know about.
選考基準：
①作品が破損する危険が極めて少ない梱包であること。
②誰でも容易に荷ほどき、荷造りができる梱包であること。
③過剰に資材を使用することなく、必要最低限で、十分な梱包がされていること。
④複数回使用でき、③に加えて環境に配慮された梱包であること。
⑤美しく梱包されていること。
※選考は本展で入選した作品の中から行いました。
Selection criteria:
1. Works must be packed to avoid extremely little risk of damage.
2. The Packing must be easy for anyone to unpack and pack.
3. Works must be packed in the minimum necessary but sufficient amount.
4. Usable multiple times, and in addition to No.3, it must be environmentally friendly.
5. Beautifully packed.

2025伊丹国際クラフト展「ジュエリー」 事務局が選ぶグッドパッキング賞！
受賞したのは、中国から出品いただいた、YANG Ruiさんの梱包。他にも工夫されたものもあったのですが、「②誰でも容易に荷ほどき、荷造りができる梱包であること。」という点が特に優れていることが決め手となりました。
国外からの応募については、通関（輸出入される貨物が税関の許可を得るための手続き）の際に、開梱検査があります。日常的にジュエリー作品を取り扱わない方も作業することが前提ですから、この条件を満たすことはとても重要なのです。
それでは、受賞したYANGさんの梱包をご紹介いたします。

Best Packing Award selected by the staff !
The award-winning package is YANG Rui’s, from China. Congratulations!
Although there were some more with good ideas as well, the deciding factor was that this perfectly covered the criteria “No.2 The Packing must be easy for anyone to unpack and pack “.
Entries from overseas will be subject to unpacking and inspection during customs clearance (a procedure for obtaining customs permission for imported and exported goods). Since it is assumed that even those who do not handle jewellery on a daily basis will be involved in the work, it is very important that the above conditions are met. Now we would like to show YANG-san’s package.
YANGさんは、身近で手に入る段ボール箱を再利用して、送ってくださいました。
補足しますと、海外から応募してくださる作品については、通関にあたっての再梱包時に、外箱がテープやビニールでラッピングされることがあります。外装箱に指示などを記載しても隠れたり剥がれたりすることがあることを踏まえて梱包しましょう。
YANG-san sent works in a recycled cardboard box that is readily available.
As a side note, for works submitted from overseas, the outer box may be wrapped in tape or plastic when repackaged after customs clearance. Please pack with the understanding that even if you write instructions on the outer box, they may be hidden or removed.
過剰に資材を用いることなく、上面と側面に詰められた最低限の緩衝材の中に、内箱が入っています。
The packaging box is packed with minimal cushioning material on the top and sides, without using excessive materials.
内箱は、マグネット付きブック式になっています。丈夫な紙製で、開閉が簡便な構造です。
The inner box is a book-style box with a magnet. It is made of sturdy paper and is easy to open and close.
箱の内寸にぴったり揃えられたウレタン材には、作品ごとにくぼみが作られ、柔らかな布袋に1点ずつ作品が入れられています。
作品素材の真珠は微細な傷がつきやすいことを踏まえて、エアキャップなどでなく、作品に直接触れる梱包素材に布を選んだ点も高評価でした。
箱内で作品が動く心配がなく、衝撃からもしっかり守られています。今年の梱包レベルは総じて高く、僅差の梱包が多くありましたが、誰でも初見で簡単に梱包ができる点で、受賞が決まりました。
The urethane foam is perfectly matched to the inner dimensions of the box, with a recess made for each piece, and each piece is placed in a soft cloth bag.
Considering that the pearls used in the artwork are prone to minor scratches, we also highly praised the choice of cloth as the packaging material that comes into direct contact with the artwork, rather than bubble wrap or similar.
There is no need to worry about the artwork moving around inside the box, and it is well protected from impacts.
This year’s packaging standard was generally high, with many packages coming in close behind, but the winner was decided because it was easy for anyone to pack on their first try.
受賞されたYANG Ruiさんには事務局より、次回エントリー料免除の副賞が送られます。YANGさんおめでとうございます。ぜひまだご出品ください！

オマケ
惜しくも受賞には至らなかった梱包とその理由も少しご紹介。
Below are other packages that were very good but unfortunately missed out on awards for some reason.
緩衝材に、作品にぴったりのくぼみを設けて、安全に収納されています。
「作品がここにある」という表記がなかったので、緩衝材と間違えてしまう可能性があることが、受賞を逃した要因でした。
The cushioning material has a recess that fits the work perfectly, so it can be safely stored.
As there was no indication that “the work is here,” there was a risk that it could be mistaken for the cushioning material, and the work therefore missed out on the award.
美しく梱包され、緩衝材も過不足なくほどよい量が詰められています。
アクリルコンテナに作品が入り、ラベルも大きく見やすく表示され、安全性の高い収納でした。
ただひとつ、5㎝の作品高さに対して、30㎝ほどの大きな箱にやや過剰な梱包材が使われていたので、受賞を逃しました。It was beautifully packaged, with just the right amount of cushioning material, neither too much nor too little.
The artworks were stored in acrylic containers with large labels, ensuring safe storage.
However, there was one thing: the box was about 30cm high, and a slightly excessive amount of packaging material was used compared to the height of the artwork, which was only 5cm, so it didn’t win an award.
作品梱包では、破損がないという点が重要です。その上で、資材や梱包手順のアイデアは作家の創意工夫や、作品への想いが感じられるところでもあります。大切な作品を守る梱包の工夫を次回も期待しています！
決して表には出てこない展覧会の裏側でした。
The most important point for packing is that artworks won’t be damaged at all. In addition to this, we would find artists’ ingenuity and passion to their works when we see the way of packing and ideas of materials. Packing protects your precious works.
